Waist: around your natural waist (where you wear your trousers). The size you order matches your body chest; the finished jacket runs about 1 cm (≈0.4") larger for a tailored drape.
How suits pair with trousers
Every suit ships with the trouser waist 6 inches smaller than the jacket chest, across all sizes including Big & Tall. Examples: a size 42 jacket = 36" waist trouser. A size 50 jacket = 44" waist trouser. A size 60 jacket = 54" waist trouser. If you need a different waist than the paired drop, look for a Suit Separate on the product page.
